Take off tells the story of a young boy who uses his vivid imagination to escape the reality of his troubled life. With absent parents and no friends, his only escape has been the world he creates inside his head. One day, he rides his bike into a park where he comes across an eccentric, offbeat man who also uses his imagination to get through life. The boy follows the man into his creative world, where he has assembled everyday trash to resemble a "rocket ship". The two form a unique bond and escape the realities of their worlds. 

Man, 50-60, A like-able, non-intimidating, Caucasian man.  With a great imagination, this eccentric, somewhat crazy, character has created his own imaginary world, deep within a local park. He has assembled everyday trash to resemble a rocket ship which he truly believes is real and is able to completely shut out reality with his powerful imagination. Must be able to truly connect and believe in his fantasy surroundings.

Boy, 8-12, Small in stature, cute, Caucasian boy.  No taller than 4’10. This character is full of innocence. Growing up in a home with absentee parents, he has always relied on his vivid imagination to escape reality. Has a fascination with space and goes through life as if he is living in his own world.

Shooting March 9-11 in Wilton, Connecticut.  Non-paying but daily Transportation/credit/copy/meals provided.
