Film QuotesI let the actors work out their ideas before shooting, then tell them what attitudes I want. If a scene isn't honest, it stands out like a sore thumb. - David Lynch join film forums |

Advice to Filmmakers
- Be creative. Winning PSA's will embody the anti-piracy message and do so in a unique and creative way.
- Past spots have often been deemed too negative. Remember that viewers will be watching your spot on a DVD or at a movie that they've legally paid for.
- Your spot should not be aimed at other filmmakers, but the general public. The average movie pirater is between the ages of 12 and 25, but spots should also work to engage parents and other casual piraters.
- Since spots will run in video stores that are open to all ages, the content must be family friendly, yet still play to an only semi-captive audience.
- There are no restrictions on the format of your film. Live action, animation, claymation, still photography or any combination are welcome.
- The core message of Anti-Piracy is:
- Illegal downloading of entertainment product is a crime and comparable to stealing.
- Purchasing pirated DVDs and videocassettes is buying stolen goods and is supporting piracy.
