Continuing Education Workshops for Professionals

Sunscreen Film Festival Presents Fundamentals of Film and Acting for the Screen Workshops

Downtown St. Petersburg will host a four part workshop for anyone who wants to learn how to make a movie or star in one.

(Tampa Bay, FL) -- Studio 620 in Downtown St. Petersburg is set to be the location for The Sunscreen Film Festival’s “Fundamentals of Film” Workshop on January 15, January 21, February 4, and March 3; open to anyone interested in learning how to make their own movie and then watch it at the festival. The workshop will be taught by Southeastern University Film Professor Dave DeBorde and will cost $250 for the School and includes a Filmmaker pass to the 2012 Sunscreen Film Festival!

Sunscreen Film School is offering a four-month course to teach filmmakers how to take off-the-shelf equipment and make a movie out of original stories. Participants will learn how to write and pitch a script; set up production schedules; plan and shoot shots; direct actors; work with lighting and sound; edit and assemble rough-cuts; insert credits and much, much more. The schedule for Fundamentals of Film Making will be as follows:
January 15 - 1st class: Telling the story and Screenwriting
January 21 – Cinematography: Lights, Camera and Producing
February 4 – Directing, Acting, Shooting
March 3 - Post-production and editing
Sunscreen Film Festival: Will show completed films to public.

In addition to Fundamentals, there will be an Acting for the Screen Workshop at the same Downtown location, which will be held on January 14, January 28, February 11, and February 25. This workshop is designed to give actors and actresses the chance to get in front of a camera and do what it takes to be absolutely believable. This workshop will be taught by Southeastern University Film Professor Dave DeBorde, and will cost $250.0 for the School and also includes a Filmmaker pass to the 2012 Sunscreen Film Festival.

The schedule for the Acting for the Screen Worskhop will be as follows:
January 14th - 1st class for Screen Acting
January 28th - 2nd class for Screen Acting
February 11th - 3rd class for Screen Acting
February 25th - 4th class for Screen Acting
