(Nashville, TN) Ryan Pickett of Ryan Pickett Productions has won a prestigious
Award of Merit from the Best Shorts Competition. The award was given for Ryan’s
experimental short film, Look, which is a dream-inspired avant-garde
examination of beauty created when Ryan attended Watkins Film School. Look features
elegantly composed visuals by director Ryan Pickett as well as cinematographer
Shane Bartlett and it was co-written by Spenser Fritz. The exceptional cast
includes John Ferguson, Starina Johnson, Alison Parson and Theresa Meeker.
“Ryan Pickett is an exceptionally talented director who managed the cast
and crew of Look with great finesse,” says actress Theresa Meeker.
In winning Best Shorts laurels, Ryan Pickett receives important public recognition
of his achievements. The Best Shorts Competition is an avant-garde international
competition that grants awards to films of the utmost quality.
The very first short film that Ryan made, You Only Loved Me Twice,
as well as his business proposal earned him a top five finalist spot in the
film entrepreneurship Race to Be Competition hosted by media mogul Russell Simmons
at the Sony Pictures Studio Lot in Los Angeles. Ryan was featured in the Nashville
Business Journal for his efforts in the Race to Be Competition.
