Featured Call for Entries
The
CineYouth Festival announces its nationwide call
for entries for the 2010 Festival has been extended to March 25,
2010. The Festival is seeking submissions for films and videos
of any genre from filmmakers who are 20 years old or younger.

forms can be found on Cinema/Chicago’s website at www.cinemachicago.org/cineyouth.
This year’s Festival will be a two-day event held May 6-8th,
at the Columbia College Chicago campus in Chicago, IL. Youth filmmakers
are invited to attend and watch officially selected Festival films
with an audience as well as attend exciting workshops, meet in-the-know
film professionals, and network with other young filmmakers from
all over the country. The CineYouth Festival with conclude with
an Awards Ceremony highlighting the winners from each category
along with a “Best of the Festival” film selection.
Film screenings, workshops and other events are free and open
to the general public. “Best of” films are screened
at the Chicago International Film Festival in October, 2010.
Cinema/Chicago, the presenting organization of the Chicago International
Film Festival, organizes and facilitates this event annually with
the support of Columbia College Chicago, continuing in the mission
of encouraging young filmmakers to express themselves and explore
the endless possibilities of filmmaking.
In speaking of extended call for entries, Festival Administrator
Rebecca Fons noted, “ We’ve received creative and
amazing entries so far from student filmmakers from around the
country, and we are excited to extend our submission deadline
so more students can be involved in CineYouth. ”
The postmark deadline for entering the Festival
is March 25th, 2010.
