College and University Help

Columbia College Chicago Offers Help

By Judd Chesler
posted Sep 3, 2005, 12:07

Columbia College Chicago is prepared to enroll and house up to twenty at risk or in need undergraduate students directly affected by Hurricane Katrina for this Fall Semester-all expenses paid (full tuition, room and board & transportation costs), for up to a year or as soon as they are able to return to their original educational homes. Columbia acknowledges that for most affected students it may be best for them to take a break from school to support their families and communities rather than to enroll temporarily in another college. However, we want to do what we can to help students (where appropriate) continue on their educational paths and return to their home colleges as soon as possible.

Classes for our Fall Semester BEGIN TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 6, but we will be prepared to help students start late as circumstances dictate. Please Contact Murphy Monroe, Executive Director of Admissions as quickly as possible at 773/209-2225 or mmonroe@colum.edu."
