Dance Films Association (DFA) is proud to announce its ninth collaboration with the Film Society of Lincoln Center: Dance On Camera Festival 2005 and DFAs 33rd annual festival. The festival will be held at the Walter Reade Theater, 165 West 65th Street, plaza level, New York City. A jury of esteemed film and dance artists will determine the winner of DFAs cash prize. All entries not selected to be shown at the Walter Reade Theatre will be available for viewing by the general public at the Jerome Robbins Dance Division of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts of Lincoln Center. DFA will ask the permission of winning entrants to include their work on Dance On Camera On Tour which begins at the Jacob Burns Center in Pleasantville, New York. For the screenings in the tour outside of New York, the entrants will receive an honorarium.

Dance On Camera Festival is the oldest annual dance film/video festival in the world. Initiated to foster creativity and encourage fruitful collaborations between dancers and film makers, the Dance On Camera Festival is one of many activities sponsored by DFA, founded by the late Susan Braun in 1956 as a not-for-profit, member-supported service organization. Membership includes a subscription to the bi-monthly Dance On Camera Journal, discounts on all DFA events, fiscal sponsorship, production support, access to its on-line database, finishing funds, and viewing facilities.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center, also a member-supported organization, maintains a prominent position within the international film network as a discerning, innovative exhibitor. The Film Society produces the annual New York Film Festival, a Gala Tribute to a distinguished film artist, co-produces New Directors/New Films with the Museum of Modern Art, and publishes the bi-monthly magazine Film Comment.
