Video Download Site Launched to Deliver Constant Entertainment

By Yuse Turner
posted Mar 9, 2005, 17:07

StoryPIPE announces the launch of its new video download site, StoryPIPE.com, to pipe independent films and music videos directly to the audience.

StoryPIPE was founded in 2004 by independent Seattle filmmakers, Yuse Turner and krk nordenstrom, who found typical independent film sites irritatingly clogged with ads that had to be watched before a viewer could see the films. In response, StoryPIPE was born with the mission to provide filmmakers a website that audiences find engaging and seamless. "It's like a video pipe without advertising clogs," according to nordenstrom.

In addition to the website, StoryPIPE has an alliance with ZVUE to be featured as a channel partner on the ZVUE website and its handheld MP4 video player distributed throughout the U.S. by national retailers. As Yuse Turner says, "StoryPIPE is like three channels for filmmakers - Internet viewing, ZVUE downloads, and DVD compilations for big-screen play. That's why StoryPIPE's motto is “omnipresent entertainment.”

For the next 90 days, all content on StoryPIPE is free to view. From then on, StoryPIPE's structure will be similar to that of an internet newspaper: Current film and music video releases will be free to view while archived work will be downloaded for a fee evenly split between StoryPIPE and the content provide. At all times, there will never be an advertisement between the viewer and the content, unlike other popular film sites.

StoryPIPE’s goal is to be the pipeline between aspiring filmmakers and an audience craving original, omnipresent entertainment.
