Awards & Guidelines


The Hollywood Film Festival� and the Hollywood Discovery Awards� were created to discover emerging independent filmmakers. Their mandate is to bridge the gap between Hollywood and the global creative community.

HOLLYWOOD FILM DISCOVERY AWARDS�
Filmmakers will be competing for the Hollywood Discovery Awards� -- The winners will be chosen by a jury of entertainment industry professionals and announced at the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony.

The HFF Program Catalog will feature all of the finalists, and will be mailed to over 35,000 industry executives including agents, attorneys, distributors, financiers, and producer reps.

The Hollywood Reporter will publish a Special Issue featuring the Hollywood Film Festival� which will be sent to over 100,000 industry subscribers. Finalists will be listed.

GUIDELINES

Hollywood Film Festival�/Hollywood Discovery Awards�

To be eligible for the Hollywood Film Festival Discovery Awards� competition, submit a completed FEATURE, DOCUMENTARY, or SHORT SUBJECT. Only non-released films may be entered. We accept both Domestic and International submissions. Entries must be submitted on a 1/2" VHS tape. We accept ALL VHS formats (NTSC, PAL, M-PAL, N-PAL, SECAM, MESECAM). -- submitted tapes will not be returned.


Note: If selected, filmmaker agrees to furnish 1 copy of film on either a 35 mm, 16 mm film print, or Beta SP (NTSC format). The festival will also need 4 complete press kits from filmmakers whose films are selected as finalists.

Foreign language films must have subtitles.

PRIZES


PRIZES: Winners will receive: 1) VIP Passes (access to the Gala, Screenings, Parties, and Conference). 2) Access to agents, attorneys, distributors, executives and financiers. 3) Marketing opportunities.


FEES
Non-refundable Registration Fees::
Features (fiction) and Documentaries - $55 US Dollars per project.
Short Subjects (action) and Short Subjects (animation) - $45 US Dollars per project.

Note: Feature Films are more than 40 minutes in length. The length of Short Subjects is 40 minutes or less.

SELECTION PROCESS



Criterion Is Based On -- Execution and Innovation

Finalists and nominees will be contacted no later than 4 weeks prior to the beginning of the Festival.

IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL RESPONSES BY HFF TO FILMMAKERS WILL BE MADE BY EMAIL.
