2004 Angelus Awards Student Film Festival Announces Call for Entries - $10,000 grand prize

HOLLYWOOD, CA � Entries are now being accepted for the ninth annual Angelus Awards Student Film Festival, featuring more than $30,000 in cash prizes and film-industry-related gifts, including a $10,000 top prize. The international competition honors college-level student films of uncommon artistic caliber that explore the complexity of the human family with creativity, compassion and respect.

The 2004 Angelus Awards ceremony and screening of winning films will be held Oct. 23 at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood. Family Theater Productions, Hollywood, created and continues to conduct the Angelus Awards.

All genres will be accepted, including dramas, comedy, documentary and animation. Angelus themes include triumph of the human spirit, equality, dignity, spirituality, tolerance and respect for diversity, peacemaking and hope. Eligible films� maximum running time is 45 minutes or less, and they must have been completed between June 2002 and July 2004 while the filmmaker was an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited film school or university. The entry fee is $25, and the deadline is July 1, 2004.��Entry forms may be downloaded from www.angelus.org/entry-form.php.

Last year 472 films were entered representing 151 films schools from 38 U.S. states and 20 countries.
