Consumers can educate consumers about America’s energy options by participating in the “Fuel the Change” video contest sponsored by the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC). Beginning January 28, 2008, entrants can submit a :30 second video to www.fuelthechange.com. The producer of the winning video will receive a $10,000 cash prize and have the chance to have his or her commercial aired during the 2008 Indianapolis 500 on ABC.

“Consumers have a great need for more information about ways they can help to reduce our nation’s dependence on foreign oil sources as well as reduce their impact on global climate change,” said Reece Nanfito, Senior Director of Marketing for EPIC. “Ethanol-enriched fuels are one way to achieve both results and a video contest is a fun way to reach out to consumers with the message.”

Entries will be judged in several ways. Beginning on February 11, voters will be able to rate the videos posted to www.fuelthechange.com. In addition, expert judges will view the videos and select winners based on consumer votes, creativity, originality, relevance, broadcast suitability, and adherence to contest rules. The contest runs from January 28, 2008 through April 21, 2008. Winners will be selected on May 7, 2008. The winning entry could air during the 2008 Indianapolis 500.

In addition to the first place video prize, a “People’s Choice” award will be given, the winner receiving $5,000 and three “Sponsor’s Choice” award will be given, the winners receiving $1,250 each. Registered users of the site who vote each day are also entered into a drawing to win weekly prizes including $500 gas cards.

“EPIC is a very innovative client that recognizes the importance of using our digital marketing platform to be highly relevant with each consumer and get them to fuel the change,” said Michael Bragg, President of Digital Dialogue.

Full rules and regulations are available at www.fuelthechange.com. The contest is being implemented and overseen by Digital Dialogue (www.DigitalDialogue.com). To learn more about ethanol, visit www.drivingethanol.org.
