Calling All Filmmakers: New Calls for Productions. Five Categories. Winning films will receive a total of $10,500, plus revenues from distribution. LoftCity (www.loftcity.com), the first online film & TV studio, is proud to announce new Calls for Production ("C4P"), granting a total of $10,500, plus revenues from distribution. Five Categories: These C4P are for co-productions of original and creative films to be produced via LoftCity's site and distributed by LoftCity to web destination sites and Mobile service providers. I. Call for Production ("C4P") – "New Frontier Video" This C4P is for co-productions of original and creative new frontier videos to be produced via LoftCity’s site and distributed by LoftCity to web destination sites and mobile service providers. LoftCity will grant $1500 to the winning video of this C4P. A new frontier video is experimental film that pushes the boundaries of traditional aesthetics and the narrative structures of filmmaking. Experimental film is often characterized by the absence of linear narrative, the use of various abstracting techniques (i.e. out of focus, painting or scratching, rapid editing, etc.), the use asynchronous sounds or even the absence of any soundtrack. The goal of the new frontier video is to place the viewer in a more active and thoughtful relationship with the film. Key dates
II. Call for Production ("C4P") – "Silent Movie" Film historians consider the Grand Café screening by the Lumiere brothers in 1895 to be the true birth of cinema as a commercial medium. Each film screened was one minute long and consisted of one shot. The Lumiere brothers shot with a camera called the Cinématographe, a three-in-one device, which shot, developed and projected the moving images. This C4P is homage to the Lumiere brothers’ work. Call for Production ("C4P")– "LoftCity Viral Ad" This C4P is for co-productions of original and creative viral ad to be produced via LoftCity’s site and used by LoftCity in online marketing campaigns. LoftCity will grant $2500 to the winning viral ad of this C4P. LoftCity is the first online film and TV studio, and a new and exciting way of filmmaking, as well as a distributor of films and series for the ever-evolving web and mobile film industries. Create an ongoing miniseries on any subject of your choosing using the powerful impact of the series format to build an audience that anxiously waits for the next episode to be released. Key dates

Call for Production ("C4P") – "Big City Life Documentary" This C4P is for co-productions of original and creative documentary films to be produced via LoftCity’s site and distributed by LoftCity to web destination sites and mobile service providers. LoftCity will grant $2000 to the winning film of this C4P. From explorations of cultural trends and political movements to examinations of deeply personal issues that define individual lives, documentary shorts offer unique opportunities to understand your city lives in new ways.
