Serving as a wonderful event where attendees can talk directly to manufacturers, see the latest equipment, and attend exceptional educational seminars, the 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain VidExpo 2006 was once again a great success, and an exciting success for StudentFilmmakers magazine and StudentFilmmakers.com, who received an excellent response from attendees. StudentFilmmakers Magazine and StudentFilmmakers.com thanks everyone who visited its booth at VidExpo 2006.

Speaking with the myriad of attendees who came by the StudentFilmmakers magazine / StudentFilmmakers.com booth, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Kim E. Welch, and Colorado-based cinematographer and director, Jon Firestone, were in attendance at the VidExpo 2006 show in Denver, Colorado, October 11 and 12.

During the show, StudentFilmmakers displayed and handed out its current issue of StudentFilmmakers magazine, which features cover story, "Interview with Adam Biddle, Cinematographer for 'Crank,' Insights into HD Feature Making," and spotlights writer and director Sasha Knezev who discusses his award-winning film, "Fragments of Daniela." The issue also features articles written by Phillip Van, Chris Cavallari, Larry Jaffee, and others.

Also on display at the StudentFilmmakers booth were the magazine's special back issues. Jon Firestone spoke with attendees about his article, "RED ONE: Is it Real?" (May 2006) and "Tips for Working with Camera Jibs," (August 2006). StudentFilmmakers magazine's October issue features Jon Firestone's follow up RED article, "RED ONE: Delivering Results?" (October 2006), as well as other great articles. Don't miss this issue, and check out the cover story, "The Monk Who Would Be A Director," by Larry Jaffee, who interviews first-time director, Neten Chokling on his film, "Milarepa."

During the second day of the VidExpo show, Kim E. Welch served as a moderator at the Short Take Seminar, "Technology in the House of Worship Panel." The panel included speakers Daryl Porter, Chief Audio Engineer of New Life Church; Ron Stone, Production Coordinator of Woodman Valley Church; Jesse Ralph of Legacy Productions; and Terry Taylor, Lighting Director of New Life Church. Topics discussed included the "how to's" and "what not's" of technology in the church, as well as equipment and how to ensure a successful audio and video production.
