(Bergen, Norway) Vizrt announces that several TV stations in Latin America recently relied on Vizrt systems, software and graphics to display voting returns during their election coverage. A system made up of Viz Engine, Vizrt's powerful renderer; Viz Artist animation and visual effects tool and Viz Trio character generator powered the election graphics.

During this summer, Vizrt customers in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador and Brazil covered their respective election events using Vizrt products. Gizmo studio (www.gizmosite.tv), a Buenos Aires-based service provider and Vizrt partner, used the Vizrt systems to design graphics for Vizrt in Argentina and Mexico.

Gizmo Studio was instrumental in designing and assisting the networks' development of election shows for Mexico's Cadena 3 and Argentina's Artear television network.

Cadena 3, an existing Vizrt customer, had relied upon Vizrt graphics solutions for the past two years. For their election coverage, Cadena 3 wanted to add a dynamic visual impact and real-time results to their broadcast. In June, after a month of planning and preparations, Cadena 3 successfully used Viz Artist and Viz Trio character generator software to create broadcast graphics in HD and SD in real-time for Mexico's congressional elections. The upgrades resulted in efficient production and streamlined workflows, according to Emmanuel Verruno and Andrea Bacigalupo, Co-owners of Gizmo.

Artear, one of the largest television networks in Argentina, made a similar jump in capabilities for their congressional election broadcast in July. Artear was also an existing Vizrt customer, and wished to improve the branding of both channels, giving them a more dynamic look. Gizmo was brought on board to assist in designing and implementing a new look for TN (Todo Noticias), Artear's 24-hour news channel.

Gizmo Studio worked with Artear to implement workflow change - a transition simplified by Vizrt solutions. Gizmo also developed graphics through the Vizrt systems that facilitated the transition for Artear's graphics operators.

"The Vizrt solutions absolutely improved workflow for Artear," explained Verruno. "Prior to our involvement, the network would display information through 2D tables that were created manually. Not only was the process time-consuming, the look was not up to the station's standards. With our design and the Vizrt systems, we gave Cadena 3 and Artear the ability to broadcast animated graphics with real-time results, providing the information they need in a dynamic fashion."

"We're very proud to provide graphics software systems with help from Gizmo to so many networks in Latin America," said Pablo Goldzseft, Regional Manager Latin America of Vizrt. "It proves how flexible our systems are and highlights how well Vizrt and Gizmo offer a wide range of workable options to create 3D graphics whether stations have transitioned to HD or not. Election coverage saturates every network at the same time, so the look and graphic impact and information being sent out is highly important. "
