(London, UK) - Multi-award-winning transmedia production company, beActive has today announced the launch of Beat Girl The Web series on Social Network Pinterest, an interactive on-line scripted drama which acts as prequel to the upcoming multi-platform series.

Beat Girl The Web Series follows 21-year-old Heathers journey through music. After the death of her pianist mother, Heathers only option is to move in with her estranged father and half-brother. She turns to music and DJing to help her make some sense out of life. Heather is determined to continue her mothers legacy and decides to audition for a place at a prestigious music school.

Through photos, images and short video clips updated daily on Pinterest.com/beatgirlworld, fans can get small snippets of content and follow Heathers journey, her problems, fights and struggles. The Web series was created to exploit the potential of Pinterest (now the third most popular social network in the world) and its photo sharing capabilities and bring back the popularity of the Photonovels of the 60s and the 70s. Heathers thoughts, wishes, goals and obstacles in her life and the relationships with friends and family are illustrated through images and photos that fans can Pin and share with one another.

Targeted at 18-35 year old women, Beat Girl The Web series is inspired by the Novel Beat Girl by Jasmina Kallay (now on sale on paperback and eBook) and on the upcoming transmedia and multi-platform series (now in post-production), featuring Louise Dylan in the role of Heather. Content Media holds the international online and broadcast distribution rights to Beat Girl.

beActives founder and CEO Nuno Bernardo said: Beat Girl The Web series was designed to exploit the new features of this exciting new social network that is Pinterest. We wanted to bring back the popular Photonovels of the 60s to the new digital generation. The tools and functionalities introduced by Pinterest allowed us to release the content the way we envisioned. As a worlds first we expect that in the future more and more stories will be told on this network using photos and still images.
