To participate in the Minneapolis Media Institute scholarship giveaway, aspiring
graphic designers need to register on the Media Institute website: win.mediainstitute.edu,
and must submit an original box design for the made-up video game called “Uber
Billy in Dreamland,” a science fiction game for 10-13 year olds.
“…we see athletes rewarded with amazing scholarships. Many of them
use them as stepping-stones to professional athletic careers. This contest does
the same thing for an artist. This full-ride scholarship is completely based
on merit and effort. If someone has the dedication, talent, and passion for
making art, then this contest is wonderful opportunity for them,” says
Patric Lewandowski, Media Institute faculty member.
The design contest starts July 1 and submissions
entries will be accepted until July 26, 2013. Design contest winners and scholarship
recipient will be announced in Edina Minnesota on August 30, 2013 online and
at the Minneapolis Media Institute campus.
The Media Institute scholarship will be awarded by a panel of Media Institute
faculty, nationally recognized design experts and local celebrities including
Eric Husband, Executive Creative Director at Colle+McVoy, James Hovland, Mayor
of Edina, Lucas Phelan from KDWB, and Patric Lewandowski Program Chair of the
Digital Art & Design Program at the Minneapolis Media Institute.
