In an unprecedented television licensing deal, Televisa Networks announced that it has reached an agreement with Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM) to renew its licensing for the legendary James Bond film catalogue, including the latest installment, SKYFALL.

Golden, the long-standing cable channel partner of the James Bond franchise in Latin America has licensed SKYFALL’s pay-TV window in the region.  The film, from Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment, is the most successful Bond film of all time, grossing over $ 1 billion at the worldwide box office. The network has also renewed its basic cable licenses for all 22 of the previous Bond titles.  SKYFALL is expected to be available in June 2013 to Televisa Networks viewers.

Bruce Boren, Managing Director of Televisa Networks, pointed out the relevance of the exclusive release of SKYFALL through Golden, as it represents one more step towards providing the best content to the audiences in Latin America. Televisa Networks has held the TV rights in Latin America to the Bond films since 2007.

“This deal solidifies the presence of the legendary Bond franchise under a single umbrella and strengthens the relationship between Televisa Networks and MGM,” said Chris Ottinger, President, International Television Distribution & Acquisitions, MGM. “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Televisa in Latin America to coincide with James Bond’s 50th Anniversary.”
