On May 1st, the highly anticipated film The Great Gatsby was finally unveiled in NYC at a World Premiere celebration worthy of Jay Gatsby himself.

Baz Luhrmann, the writer, producer and director behind the film, made sure that the evening was as fashionable and over-the-top as the film’s sets and costume design, timing the release to coincide with collaborations with Tiffany’s, Brooks Brothers and Prada. Even the premiere’s 3D glasses were designer: a select few of the star-studded Guest list, including the cast and crew, were given retro-inspired INGRI:DAHL frames to wear during the screening. A picture of Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine wearing the 3D glasses at the premiere was quickly spread through social media.

INGRI:DAHL is a Norwegian label based in Los Angeles, founded by Stavanger twins Einy and Kine Paulsen. The brand is known for providing moviegoers with stylish alternatives to the cheap, ill-fitting 3D glasses handed to them upon entering the theater. Luhrmann’s inclusion of INGRI:DAHL at The Great Gatsby 3D World Premiere is a testament to the timeless appeal of the brand’s iconic retro frames.

A project of Warner Bros. Pictures and movie mastermind Baz Luhrmann, this highly anticipated adaptation of The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton and Isla Fisher. It opens nationwide on May 10, 2013.
