Sixteen-Year-Old "Chani" Unites Teens Around The World With The Remake Of The HIT 80's Classic Alongside Label Mate Bobby Tinsley And Young Hollywood's Brightest Stars

(Hollywood, CA) Sixteen-year-old Teen pop star and youth advocate “Chani” has executive produced the youth version of the original 80’s international hit song originally recorded by the supergroup USA for Africa in 1985. It was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, and co-produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian for the album We Are the World. "We Are The World The Next Generation," along with a music video set to be released worldwide March 2010, was created with label mate Bobby Tinsley, and some of young Hollywood's biggest and brightest stars lending their talent in full support recently.

The ultra talented lineup includes performers such as: Superstar International recording artist and America's Best Dance Crew judge "LIL MAMA," Interscope Recording Artist, Mishon Ratliff, Brian McKnight Jr., the son of R&B Crooner Brian Mcknight, Montana Tucker, international pop star, Taylor Parks, (Hairspray), Latin Pop duo Prima J, Raz B, former member of B2K, Naturi Naughton, star of the box office hit, FAME, "Lil Zane," best known for his role in The Fighting Temptations starring Beyonce and Cuba Gooding Junior, YouTube sensation Karen Flores, Hip Hop duo Fizz & Boog, 106 & Park Correspondent, Actress, Choreographer and Recording Artist Porscha Coleman, 16-year-old recent American Idol contestant, Tori Kelly and many more. "Chani," along with the many talented artists, strive to bring awareness and unity for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, as well as the many causes The Chanigirl foundation addresses. This new youth version of "We Are The World The Next Generation" will reach out to a new group of listeners.

This version is a historic song, because it is the first youth only version. "Chani" again unites the youth to make a difference fresh on the heels of her first major production of her HIV/AIDS "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER" PSA, which was also selected to be broadcasted at all of the remaining NFL's 2009 Indianapolis Colts home games through Lusso Media.

"Chani," selected by the 2009 NAACP Theatre Awards as a presenter with her father, NBA Star Doug Christie, was also tapped to participate in the "Girls Are Not for Sale" mega campaign which brought awareness to the trafficking of young American girls. The campaign was spearheaded by recording artist SINEAD O'CONNOR who recorded the duet, "This is To Mother You," which featured Grammy Award Winning Recording Artist/ Producer MARY J. BLIGE.

"I'm truly blessed to have this opportunity to executive produce 'We Are The World The Next Generation' while bringing together not only many of my friends but also my peers, as we unite and lead the youth by example. I want to inspire kids around the world to do all they can to make the world a better place, and to make a positive difference. I want them to know that united we stand, but divided we fall. Now is the time to stand up and unite. We are the next generation," states "Chani."

"I feel so honored to have been chosen to produce the new track and song for such an amazing project. 'We Are the World The Next Generation' is historic. Mr. Michael Jackson and Mr. Lionel Richie, and 'Chani,' are huge inspirations to me," comments Bobby Tinsley.

About Chantel "Chani" Christie: Sixteen-year-old Chantel "Chani" Christie was the 2009 LA Music Awards Pop Artist of the Year, and the United States Youth Ambassador for HIV/AIDS Awareness, a bestselling author, fashion model, and actress. "Chani" was recently awarded the 2009 Martin Luther King Jr. Excellence Hip-Hop Award, is currently starring in her new hit reality web series titled "Chani's Story," and writing her second book, "A Girl Has to Look Good! A beauty, Fashion, and Lifestyle Guide."
