Lucky Days stars Angelica Torn and is produced by Rip Torn and Paul Newman. The limited theatrical release starts May 10, with the DVD release scheduled for August 10, 2010.

(Los Angeles, CA) Seminal Films is pleased to announce the release of the dramatic comedy, ‘Lucky Days’, Angelica Torn’s award-winning directorial debut and the last film produced by Paul Newman. It is also the last movie filmed in the Coney Island Amusement Park, offering a final glimpse into the faded glory of this historical destination that has been lost forever.

Virginia (Angelica Torn) embarks on a quest for freedom during the last explosive weekend of Coney Island's renowned amusement park. After the reappearance of her childhood sweetheart (Luke Zarzecki), Virginia discovers hidden truths about her boyfriend (Federico Castelluccio) and her neighborhood that will force her to abandon everything she's ever known to the wolf pack of developers buying up and tearing down the boardwalk, or to sacrifice herself to the world that created her.

‘Lucky Days’ is a fresh, darkly romantic film that won Best Feature at the 2009 Coney Island Film Festival and also received the Remi Award at the 2009 Worldfest. The Dallas Observer says, “Angelica Torn’s luminescent performance beautifully carries the film, which casts a beguiling spell in the manner of director Alan Rudolph’s early work.” Sandra Bernhard praises the film’s “shattering dialogue, brilliant acting and fine-tuned direction” and The USA Film Festival calls it “A knockout!”

The film also stars Oscar award-winning actor Rip Torn, Federico Castelluccio (TV’s The Sopranos) and Will Patton (Remember The Titans). It is written and directed by Angelica Torn, produced by Luke Zarzecki of Torn Page Productions, and Executive Produced by Rui Da Silva and Mathius Mack Gertz of Seminal Films.

‘Lucky Days’ is starting its limited theatrical release May 10, 2010 in Boston, MA at the Coolidge Corner Theater. It will also be in Grand Rapids, MI on May 24, Weyauwega, WI on May 28, and Los Angeles, CA on June 18. Check out www.luckydaysthemovie.com for more dates and cities as they are added. The ‘Lucky Days’ DVD will be released on August 10, 2010 by E1 Entertainment. A portion of the theatrical and DVD sales will be donated to Promoting Awareness, Victim Empowerment (PAVE), a national, grassroots nonprofit organization that uses education and action to shatter the silence of sexual and domestic violence.
