(New York, NY) - The QUAD CINEMA, a 39-year old art house in New York City, has introduced the QUADflix SELECT Program, which assists independent filmmakers and distributors launch their films in New York City.

The QUADflix SELECT PROGRAM includes:

(1) A guaranteed one week run at the QUAD CINEMA.

(2) The filmmaker/distributor keeps 100% of the box office income, payable within seven days after the conclusion of the run.

(3) The services of a publicist to set up the Press Screenings for the film critics, the mailing of Press Releases to the media, and compiling and distributing Production Notes.

(4) The FREE encoding, packaging and submission of the film to the following 9 digital outlets: Netflix, iTunes (Apple), Amazon, Hulu, Vudu (Microsoft), Zune (Walmart), You Tube, Sony Playstation, and Google Play.

(5) Inclusion of the film in the QUAD ad in The New York Times and the Village Voice.

(6) Inclusion of the film on the QUAD CINEMA website (http://www.quadcinema.com) and promoted in the QUAD CINEMA E-NEWS.

Elliott Kanbar, President of the QUAD CINEMA, stated: "The QUADflix PROGRAM was started as a result of very heavy demand on the part of filmmakers to self-distribute and for distributors to obtain a guaranteed opening combined with publicity and advertising in a highly-regarded New York venue."

The demand for a New York venue has been heightened for two reasons:

(1) The low cost of digital movie projectors and post production software has resulted in a glut of independent films on the market.

(2) The closing of art house cinemas in New York has reduced the number of venues available to show independent films.

The cost for the entire one-week package is $11,000.00. Kanbar concluded by saying that, "Since the filmmakers and distributors keep 100% of the box office income, that cost would certainly be reduced. Also, the cost of a New York publicist and the encoding of the film for 9 digital outlets would cost thousands of dollars on the open market."
