Video Contests, Film Festivals, and Awards

Zeitgeist Medien Fest (ZMF) International Film Festival announced today that the Phoenix Film Commission is an official sponsor of the event. In its inaugural year, the festival has already secured sponsorship from BKW Inc. reseller of audio/video, multimedia and digital components, Sun Camera, and Residence Inn Marriott, in addition to the Phoenix Film Commission, Weecks Productions, LLC, Weecks Art Services, Salty Senorita and Breaking Gravity LLC.

The ZMF International Film Festival will be held Nov. 22-23 at Harkins Arrowhead in Peoria (16046 N Arrowhead Fountains Center Dr., Peoria, AZ 85382) and is actively seeking film submissions. The festival is presented by the Arizona Center for Germanic Cultures (AC4GC.org), in partnership with Weecks Productions, LLC. Zeitgeist is a German term meaning “spirit of the times,” which sums up the spirit of the festival in promoting current themes and technologies in filmmaking, while also paying homage to the rich history of film, and the role Germanic filmmaking has had on that history.

The official awards ceremony and event after party will take place Nov. 23 at Salty Senorita (8011 W. Paradise Ln. Peoria, 85382).
