Passmorelab’s Award Winning 3D Content to be Distributed through the Nintendo 3DS Handheld Device in Italy

Excerpts from two 3D science documentary films produced by Passmorelab, Fuzzy Baby Animals and MicroWorlds, will now be available throughout Italy for the Nintendo 3DS.

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Passmorelab, the San Diego-based stereoscopic 3D production and post house, through its distribution partner Shankly Productions, has teamed up with Nintendo Italia to announce the release of segments of two of its 3D films on the Nintendo 3DS handheld device. This is the first time excerpts of Passmorelab’s 3D “live action” short films will be available on handheld gaming consoles (Passmorelab previously debuted its award winning animation “Sunday Jog” on the Nintendo 3DS (U.S. version)).

The Nintendo 3DS, launched on March 27, 2011, swept the gaming market, dazzling consumers with its autostereoscopic 3D technology that incorporates parallax barriers for a seamless glasses-free experience. The 3DS’s download center, the Nintendo eShop is the largest on-demand library of 3D content.

The Nintendo 3DS provides a quality seamless 3D experience without the need for glasses. “Judging by the way consumers have embraced the Nintendo 3DS and similar ‘glasses-free 3D’ handheld devices, its obvious they are here to stay and will change the way 3D content is delivered to consumers,” said Michael Williams, Passmorelab’s Director of Content Distribution. Along this line, as an independent film production company, “Passmorelab is continuing to establish itself as the leader in the production of 3D short form content. We produce our own 3D films including science and nature shorts, broadcast television programming and documentary and feature films. In addition, we have also been focusing our efforts on 3D production for music videos and have worked with several big name artists such as Slash, Jason Derulo and Linkin Park,” added Williams.
