The Orange Coast College Repertory students will present “Rhinoceros,” a masterpiece by Eugene Ionesco, July 26 through August 4 in the Drama Lab Studio Theatre. Theatre arts professor Rick Golson will direct the 15-member student cast. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 26, 27, 28, Aug. 2 & 3, and a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Aug. 4.

“Rhinoceros is a masterpiece of the absurd theatre movement to come out of Europe after World War II,” Golson said. Ionesco used humor and insight to observe the dehumanizing political movements that swept through Europe following the war. The play was called “an allegory for our times” by The New York Times.
