(Manhattan, NY) - The 2012 NYC Independent Film Festival typically draws over 600 attendees annually, exposing our filmmakers to a variety of industry professionals including directors, actors, writers, and editors. This years festivities begin on Friday, October 19th with the Opening Night Gala. Press representatives who request a pass to the event will enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment, including viewing of the trailers throughout the evening and the opportunity to mingle over drinks with the participating filmmakers, actors, and producers. During the entire weekend, films will be screened in the following categories: Feature-Length, Documentaries, Shorts, Super-Shorts, and Music Videos. Panel discussions will be held on issues pertinent to todays filmmaker and viewing audience. Live entertainment and music videos will be interspersed among the viewing sessions. The festivities will conclude with the presentation of the Fan Awards on the evening of Sunday, October 21st, with both events being filmed and featured on CieriMedia.com.

The NYC Indie Film Fest promotes an open and welcoming environment for artists, writers, actors, filmmakers, and fans while focusing on offering networking opportunities for its participants.

"Last year we had over 50 films screened in the festival, and this year we will fully surpass that number. So far we have nearly 300 film and music video submissions, says CMIC president and festival founder Dennis Cieri. The entry pool is open until August 15th, and new submissions are arriving daily. With two concluding award ceremonies, one for film and one for music videos, this third annual film festival upholds its tradition of promoting new and emerging voices in film, spoken word, music, and art. Music videos are always a big hit and sell out entirely, says Cieri, This year we plan to have a stellar selection, and we also have a terrific location.

That location is The Producers Club, which is in the heart of Manhattans theater district, and has been hosting great shows, and world renowned artists and celebrities since 1993. The Producers Club, host of the New York Hells Kitchen Film Festival, will make a wonderful home for the international cinematic tradition of The NYC Independent Film Fest, with its five theaters, intimate lounge, urban dcor and artistic history.
