(Hollywood, CA) Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY), the worlds #2 PC maker, and Ideas United, the creators of Campus MovieFest (CMF), today announced the launch of the Seize the Night Film Your Own Ending Competition. The competition tasks student filmmakers from around the globe to create alternate endings to Lenovos acclaimed Seize the Night ad supporting the companys recent Ultrabook Book of Do advertising campaign.

We created the Seize the Night spot to set our latest Ultrabook devices apart from others by focusing on how our technology enables people to do amazing things, said David Roman, chief marketing officer, Lenovo. Creativity is everywhere, and the Film Your Own Ending competition recognizes the collective talent and ingenuity of the global student filmmaker community that Campus MovieFest has cultivated. Were prepared to be astounded at what this community brings to life.

Ad Makes Hollywood Big Screen Showing

Lenovo and Ideas United previewed the competition at Campus MovieFest Hollywood, the culminating event of the worlds largest student film festival, which includes workshops by industry luminaries, screenings, and a star-studded red carpet awards ceremony. CMF also showed the global ad several times throughout the weekend to more than 1,000 student filmmakers.

By working with Ideas United, Lenovo gains access to an innovative model of content creation. Ideas United, through its CMF tour of moviemaking events, has empowered more than 500,000 students from 100 plus universities to make short movies for free. The award-winning participants from each university are then invited into the Distinguished Filmmakers Network, which provides unforgettable experiences in addition to opportunities to work with premier brands seeking high-quality, authentic content.

Competition Call for Entries

Distinguished Filmmakers Network members can now submit treatments via the competitions website through July 5 that creatively explore alternate ending concepts to Seize the Night. The top entrants will receive production budgets, in addition to constant support from Ideas United, to create their alternate endings that visually capture the essence of Lenovos latest ultra-thin and ultra-light Ultrabook devices. On August 13, the alternate endings will be posted online for a two-week viewcount competition, with winning student filmmakers receiving more than $30,000 in cash and prizes, including 15 Lenovo IdeaPad U310 Ultrabooks.

Were honored to partner with Lenovo to empower our top young filmmakers to create unforgettable content, as we both believe that the next generation of storytellers are hungry for the opportunity to share their visions, said David Roemer, Co-founder and CEO of Ideas United. Lenovo is for those who do, and our participants fit that description perfectly.
