Striving to become pioneers in the online movie rental via Facebook, the Latin American independent studio Talleres Uchawi, has engineered agreements with Facebook to bring the Colombian blockbuster comedy “Lecciones para un Beso” (“Lessons for a Kiss”) directly to audiences in the U.S., Latin America & Colombia via the widely popular social network. This fresh model of distribution will set new standards for independent filmmakers worldwide.

The hit Colombian film, tagged as the first romantic comedy for men, will debut online with a live broadcast and chat with the film’s director Juan Pablo Bustamante on Tuesday, February 14, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Fans can RSVP to the live event at http://www.facebook.com/LPUBeso?sk=app_295726003815197.

Facebook fans worldwide can share this unique social experience as they engage with the filmmaker during the film's live online premiere. Following that, the movie will be available to watch on-demand with English subtitles via Social Cinema, where users can chat with friends, comment on and share clips, and invite others to watch. “Lecciones para un Beso” will be available through its Facebook Fan Page, http://www.facebook.com/LPUBeso., for 10 Facebook Credits or $0.99 via PayPal or credit card. As the online premiere draws closer, excited fans are beginning to participate in contests and promotions (http://www.facebook.com/events/203516866406813/ ).

The film “Lecciones para un Beso,” from the young Colombian director Juan Pablo Bustamante, is a romantic comedy that premiered in movie theaters last April in his native country and broke box office records. The film tells the story of Alejandro’s, a teenager in Bogota who is forced to move to Cartagena where his mother has decided to open a restaurant. There, he falls in love with the stunning Maria. Although she ignores him, he vows to do whatever it takes to win a kiss from her. Inexperienced in love, Alejandro asks three customers from his mother’s restaurant — a romantic, a liar and a materialist — to teach him how to win over Maria. The men agree not only to help the boy, but they also make a bet among themselves to see whose advice results in the kiss.

“Lecciones para un Beso” engages the audience with its light-hearted mix of romance, lies and money! The film was shot in over 20 locations in the historic district of the city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia and received a grant for the 'Cómo se Cuenta un Cuento' [“How to Tell a Story”] workshop dictated by Gabriel García Márquez and Fernando León de Aranoa, at the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba.
