Continuing Education and Workshops for Professionals

(Las Vegas, NV) - Nevada Institute for Filmmaker Development, an IndieSOS nonprofit corporation, is training professional filmmakers to work in the industry. The organization has chosen to do this for free thanks to the contributions of generous benefactors who support the program.

For anyone interested in training to become a professional filmmaker that does not want to spend tens of thousands of dollars every year for many years to go to film school, the NIFD is the place to be. Essentially, the organization trains any individual 18 years or older with a serious intent to pursue a career in the industry. Thanks to donations from supporters, there is never a fee for anything of the services offered by this organization.

When the program begins, students will be learning on professional independent film sets in Las Vegas. Within 60-90 days, from that point, they direct their own short film. Finally, within 6-9 months, students will be directing feature films and will have significant ownership of any profits generated by the film.

The program has only a few requirements for participation. First, participants must be 18 years or older. Second, they must be serious about pursuing a career in the industry. A committment of 3 eight hour days or nights a week to training are requred in order to ensure the program is a success. Also, students must attend classroom instruction seminars twice a month. Finally, a collaborative environment requires that they be willing to work in a collective to help everyone succeed.

IndieSOS produces numerous short and feature films per year all with the intent to market them through festival, theatrical, and direct distribution channels. All filmmakers have an ownership interest in any film they have worked on, as they have hands on and classroom training in all areas of filmmaking from pre-production to marketing. The organization has focused on keeping the rights, and profits, of filmmakers just where they belong.

It's next class series, titled "Train to be a filmmaker in Las Vegas and pay nothing" will be going on until December 20th.
