JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., will demonstrate its new PS-840UD Professional Series ProVérité 4K 84-inch LCD monitor at the 2013 NAB Show in Las Vegas, Nev. (Booth C4314). With a native screen resolution of 3840x2160 – four times the resolution of full HD – and 60p display capability, it is one of the world’s largest professional-grade 4K monitors.
Developed specifically for rigorous commercial use by broadcast, production, and other AV professionals, the PS-840UD features an IPS LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 10 bit color depth. Housed in a slim bezel with a 178-degree viewing angle, the ELED Illuminated monitor produces vibrant, natural images from a variety of HD and 4K input sources, including HDMI 1.4a (single cable 4K up to 30p) and HDMI 1.3 (four cable 4K up to 60p).
“4K is quickly becoming the new HD, and the PS-840UD delivers the resolution that content producers require,” said Lon Mass, vice president of JVC's Professional Video Division. “Its 60p capability and multiple inputs make it ideal for professional sports and broadcast center multi-view, as well as high-end public signage display.”
The PS-840UD also offers compatibility with the Intel open pluggable specification (OPS) for digital signage devices. Additional features include audio I/O for the built-in 15W speaker and a table base.
Supported by JVC Professional’s technical support team, the PS-840UD 4K panel is marketed through JVC Professional Products’ authorized Pro Video resellers. The monitor is priced at $14,000 and is scheduled to ship in June.
