(Los Angeles) The International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) is proud
to present the 2010 RED CAM Intensive Workshop in conjunction with Michael Cioni and LIGHT
IRON Digital. Slated to take place April 24th, 2010 in Los Angeles, California, the one-day intensive
workshop promises to not only introduce industry professionals to the superiority of the RED
tapeless workflow, but will also bring existing users up to speed with the latest developments to the
RED ecosystem, including the new and improved RED Mysterium X color science.
Facilitated by Michael Cioni, one of the industrys top specialists in RED camera and workflow, the
workshop will be covering the following topics:
 RED RAW image capture
 MX exposure
 Files vs. tape comparisons
 Footage evaluation
 2K vs. 4K
 RED Rocket

MX color science & color correction
IAFTs mission is to provide best-of-breed, current and practical training to all its students, be it
through our regular curriculum or workshops such as this, said Keith Sensing, Executive Director
of IAFT. We are honored and pleased to have with us once again one of the best caliber of
practitioners to share his vision and experiences in REDs revolutionary range of cameras and
workflows, and we believe this to be a crucial exposure for the next generation of filmmakers.
As a founding member and instructor at REDs official training program REDucation, Michael
Cioni has more than a decade of experience in feature film and television post production. Having
worked on over three hundred file-based projects and provided progressive data-centric post
production advisory support for hundreds of producers and production companies, Cioni has
undoubtedly made a name for himself as a specialist of the next-generation tapeless environment.
Through this workshop, one will be able to discover the tangible benefits of working in a tapeless
environment over tape or hybrid environments. Students will not only leave with little-known facts
about the new RED MX system, they will also gain a deeper understanding of applicability through
professional case studies, hardware demonstrations, and footage examples, said Cioni. It will
also be an exciting time to discuss REDs post-NAB developments-such as improved color science
and REDs digital still motion capture (DSMC) system, Cioni added.
Space in the workshop is limited and IAFT advises early registration for interested participants. For
