(Bryn Mawr, PA) Learn how four genocide survivors are working to prevent mass atrocities in The Last Survivor, an engrossing and powerful new documentary showing at Bryn Mawr Film Institute on Tuesday, May 1 at 7:30 pm. The event is co-sponsored by Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy and their Human Rights Club.

A film about taking action and spreading hope, The Last Survivor focuses on four survivors of genocide and mass atrocity who are trying to make sense of their tragedy by educating a new generation. Following survivors from Rwanda, Darfur, Congo, and Bergen-Belsen who are now involved in the anti-genocide movement, the film stresses the vital importance of survivor advocacy and the commonalties shared by these individuals across the globe. Shot in five countries on four continents, The Last Survivor sends a powerful and universal message about preventing genocide. Winner of six awards, including Best Documentary at the Oxford Film Festival, the film was featured in numerous festivals, such as the Jerusalem International Film Festival and Independent Film Festival Boston.

The event is co-sponsored by Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, an independent Jewish day school that provides students from 6th through 12th grades with a curriculum of both college preparatory and Jewish studies. For more information, visit www.jbha.org.
