Hollywood Honors Mickey Rooney

(Beverly Hills, CA) The 54th Annual Thalians Ball honors film, stage, and TV star Mickey Rooney and the USO Shows supporting America's Armed Forces around the world. Debbie Reynolds and Ruta Lee will host. Rooney receives the Mr. Wonderful Award and gold statuette, designed by Walt Disney for the Thalians in the 1950's.

Many of Mickey Rooney's leading ladies from MGM will be performing. Also Bruce Vilanch and a special appearance by The Golddiggers who are on national tour as they did in the days of The Dean Martin Show. Stars attending include Lou & Carla Ferrigno, Dick Van Patten, Alex Trebek, Gloria Allred, Barbie Benton, Tom Hallick, Betty Garrett, Carol Connors, Norm Crosby, Joan Van Ark, Ron Masak, Stella Stevens, Ann Rutherford, Marty Ingels, Terry Moore, Barbara Luna, Jack LaLanne, Elke Sommer, and Gary Marshall.

The 54th Thalians Ball shall benefit the Thalians Mental Health Center at Cedars-Sinai. There are many ticket sale opportunities starting out at $400. per seat and up. Included in the evenings activities will be live performances from the stars, cocktails, gourmet dinner and fine wines form the Beverly Hilton's world class chefs, a silent and live auction of the best travel, fashion, memorabilia, jewelry, and dining experiences money can buy -all at sensational reduced prices. Dancing music will be provided by the highly popular live sounds of Lynn Keller and the Suits. The show will be taped for television by ATI-Associated Television International -Executive Producer/Director David McKenzie. Thalians event-producer is Blake Lindquist.
