Tisch School of the Arts Grad Film students Eunice Lau and Thomas Kim Are Student Academy Award National Finalists.
Graduate Film thesis students, Eunice Lau and Thomas Kim, were advanced to the final round at the Student Academy Awards tonight - a major feat and a great honor!
The Academy has advanced Eunice Lau's THROUGH THE FIRE and Thomas Kim's FOOTSTEPS to the final round of the Student Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Recent Grad Film alumnus and Academy Award winner Luke Matheny presented the awards.
Eunice Lau's THROUGH THE FIRE is a photo-essay and short film about hope returning to Somalia after two decades of war and famine. Survivors of the conflict use their personal tragedies to compel themselves and their community to forge ahead, instead of remaining hapless victims of circumstances.
Thomas Kim's FOOTSTEPS tells the story of four children's fun and games that turn into a tragic incident at the demilitarized sea area between North and South Korea.
