Moving Movie Moments -- The Miracle of Forgiveness In Cinema

(Wisconsin Dells, WI) A Course in Miracles International is inviting Filmmakers to submit "forgiveness-themed" films to be shown as part of the events celebrating International Forgiveness Week and Weekend of Perfect Peace from September 14 - 23, 2012. The International Forgiveness Week Calendar will be accented with daily movie presentations under the event title "Moving Movie Moments--The Miracle of Forgiveness in Cinema."

Documentary filmmaker and producer of "A Course in Miracles Unleashed: A Direct Encounter With Jesus Christ In The Evolution and Enlightenment of The Human Species", Jubi Onyeama O'Connor, who is assisting in the coordination of the event, explained that "the value of films to communicate the necessity for forgiveness and to inspire us personally to forgive is inestimable. We can see for ourselves, as Jesus shows us in the Course, that 'Forgiveness literally transforms vision, and lets you see the real world reaching quietly and gently across chaos, removing all illusions that had twisted your perception and fixed it on the past. The smallest leaf becomes a thing of wonder, and a blade of grass a sign of God's perfection.'

"Cinematic transformations through forgiveness vary broadly -- some are inspiring, some humorous, some devastating. We aim to have a wide variety of films represented in our celebration of forgiveness in cinema. Each showing will be augmented by a discussion of the movie's elements of forgiveness. We hope that Filmmakers will attend the event and participate in the discussions."

Fellow event organizer, Nancy Hancock, who is featured in the documentary, "A Course In Miracles Unleashed", explained her own interest in forgiveness as a cinematic theme: "Compassion truly does not exist until you manifest it personally within your own consciousness. Each of us are creating the reality we experience, whether or not we are filmmakers. Far beyond the magic of of creating events or objects on the cinematic screen is the thrill of the qualities you create in your own awareness -- peace, unlimitedness, forgiveness, compassion, wisdom. Through cinema we taste the "lived" experience of qualities we may dream of, but which may not yet be in our personal reference. Cinema allows us to step into perspectives of mind based on conscious creation. Vision based on forgiveness, thus, becomes a global possibility."
