(New York, NY) - Film Armada, the first online theatron and full-scale film community that serves as an eVenue and distribution channel for professionally produced, visibly and actively curated independent films, launches today as the Official Streaming Partner of The 17th Annual Nantucket Film Festival.

Film Armada provides unique and significant benefits for both filmmakers and film fans for free. For filmmakers, Film Armada offers the opportunity to showcase their work beyond festivals alongside other curated films and to find a global audience and make a profit, all while retaining full rights to their films. Additionally, filmmakers can deepen their industry footprint by building profiles, engaging with fans and raising donations for specific projects. In turn, the site offers film fans worldwide a destination to discover quality new feature-length, short, and documentary films and web series; be guided by Curators; read reviews; participate in discussions; cast their votes for their favorite films; and get an insiders seat at industry events.

We wanted to create an environment that serves the needs of both filmmakers and film fans, and we learned that visible and active curation is the key to both, said Christina Villa, Film Armada Co-founder.

There are so many elements of this site that were thoughtfully put together with one purpose in mind: to build a trusted film community, a platform that gives filmmakers an opportunity to showcase their work on a global scale and earn a direct profit from their work, added Alla Bronskaya, Film Armada Co-founder.

The site launches with nine films, including select feature films and honorable mentions from the Nantucket Film Festival, web series, curators and writers. Post-launch, Film Armada will add new films every three days ensuring that there will always be fresh content to discover. Each film will run for six months, allowing fans the time to view all of them and vote for their favorite in the semi-annual Viewers Choice Awards. The filmmakers get global exposure and the opportunity to realize greater profits, as they benefit from the ad revenue and ticket sales derived from their content and the chance to win $5,000 plus a percentage of the overall ad revenue if selected as the Viewers Choice Award winner.

Film Armada has been selected by The 17th Annual Nantucket Film Festival to take the action off the island and onto the screens of everyone who cannot attend the event. Film Armada will stream a selection of festival films as well as interviews with filmmakers and filmgoers, and it will broadcast live from select Signature Festival Events.

We are thrilled that Film Armada chose us to be their launching pad for this amazing endeavor. It was clear from the moment Christina and Alla approached us that this is a company that supports filmmakers in a new and creative way. As a film festival, we try to assist filmmakers and foster new talent. The Nantucket Film Festival is very excited to be partnering with Film Armada this year, said Colin Stanfield, Executive Director of The Nantucket Film Festival.

Film Armada is a brilliant, organic, online provider of on-demand streaming media, said Gena Vazquez, Chairperson of IndieCon, President of Legacy Entertainment Partners, and Film Armada Advisor. Its whole purpose is to sustain and globally promote the visual arts, namely cinema. This method puts Film Armada at the forefront of where film distribution is headed. It is an honor to be a part of this grassroots venture into the new world of filmmaking and worldwide distribution.

Film Armada is now accepting submissions of feature, short and documentary films and web series.
