(Colombo, Sri Lanka) Specialist Sri Lankan Destination Management Company "Escape Holidays" announced that it is the official travel provider of "Midnights Children" the latest film by critically acclaimed film director Deepa Mehta. The film is an adaptation of Sir Salman Rushdies 1981 Booker Prize winning novel of the same name. The movie was filmed in Sri Lanka under the codename "Winds of Change" in 2011.

Sir Salman Rushdie is credited as the screenwriter of the film, adapting his own novel. Deepa Mehta's previously released movie "Water" was nominated for an Oscar under "Best Foreign Language Film" at the 79th Academy Awards. Midnights Children actors include Satya Bhabha (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Charles Dance (HBOs Game of Thrones), Shabana Azmi (Fire).

The films complex and top secret pre-production and filming schedule started with cast and crew arriving in Colombo, and went on for six months with the production team wrapping up May 2011. Midnights Children principal cast and crew stayed at the Taj Samudra Colombo and a few other Sri Lankan hotels. The film logistics involved hundreds of flights in and out of Colombo and thousands of hotel room nights. The film brought in jobs and millions of dollars into the Sri Lankan economy and boosted the local film industry.

According to an Escape Holidays representative, The film schedule was quite complicated because at the time of filming consumer demand for accommodation well outstripped supply. All available room inventory was extremely low during these months because of the ICC Cricket World Cup which was happening in town during the same time. The companys allotment and inventory management expertise really enabled us to provide a superior service and our team demonstrated a real personal level of 24/7 customer support.

Escape Holidays has a consumer website: http://srilankaandmaldives.com which provides travelers with an amazing variety of travel and accommodation options in Sri Lanka and Maldives. The company also provides specialized services for Hollywood/Bollywood productions.

Midnights Children releases in US and Canada cinemas on 2nd November 2012.
