On the heels of its successful TV partnership with “My French Film Festival,” Eurocinema®, North America’s premier VOD movie network, announced a multi-year agreement with Miramax making many of the greatest European films of all time available on demand.

Beginning March 15th, Eurocinema will debut some of the most exciting films from Miramax’s extensive international catalog. Popular Miramax foreign titles featured this month will be highlighted by the leading ladies of the big screen including Malena with Monica Bellucci, About Adam with Kate Hudson, Daughter of D’Artangnan (Revenge of the Musketeers) with Sophie Marceau, and Dirty Pretty Things with Audrey Tatou.

“Eurocinema’s partnership with Miramax is unprecedented,” said Sebastien Perioche, Chairman/CEO, Eurocinema. “Never before will such a high quality and diversified collection of world screen gems be available in one place and on demand. Eurocinema has become the go-to destination for fans of European cinema.”

Eurocinema is currently available to over 35 million subscribers via cable and telco systems, on such major providers as Comcast, Cablevision, Charter and Verizon, among others.

New Miramax titles will be made available each month, adding to Eurocinema’s already robust offering of films on demand. Titles will be available to view for $3.95-$4.99.

Beginning March 15, Eurocinema debuted:

MALENA (Italian w/English subtitles) Two Oscar® nominations. In a sleepy Italian village, caught amongst the chaos and intolerance of World War II, the most beautiful woman in town, Malena (Monica Bellucci), becomes the subject of increasingly malicious gossip among the lustful townsmen and their jealous wives. But it’s only her most ardent admirer, young Renato Amoroso, who will learn her mysterious untold story.

DAUGHER OF D’ARTAGNAN (REVENGE OF THE MUSKETEERS) (French w/English subtitles) A brave and resourceful young woman keeps the spirit of the Three Musketeers alive in this historical adventure. Eloise (Sophie Marceau), daughter of a famed swordsman, finds she has a remarkable gift with a blade herself and the will to correct injustice when she sees it.

ABOUT ADAM (Ireland) When carefree Lucy (Kate Hudson) finally meets the perfect man, Adam (Stuart Townsend), she’s ready to give up her wild ways and settle down for good. But while Lucy is busy planning their wedding, Adam is busy charming the rest of her family, including her two older sisters. Soon Mr. Charming even has Lucy’s brother, David, questioning his own sexuality in this light-hearted comedy.

DIRTY PRETTY THINGS (UK) One Oscar® nomination. Part of an invisible working class, Nigerian exile Okwe and Turkish chambermaid Senay (Audrey Tatou) toil at a posh West London hotel brimming with illegal activity. Living in constant fear of deportation, one night Okwe stumbles across evidence of a bizarre murder setting off a series of events that could lead to disaster or freedom.

On April 1st, the leading men of international cinema will be highlighted, including the four time Oscar® nominated Diving Bell and The Butterfly, Italian festival favorite I’m Not Scared, Golden Globe nominated Kinky Boots and BAFTA recognized With A Friend Like Harry.

On April 1st, Eurocinema will premiere:

DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY (French w/English subtitles) Four Oscar® nominations. Mathieu Amalric stars as author and Elle magazine editor Jean-Dominique Bauby – who tragically suffered a stroke in 1995 rendering him mute and completely paralyzed. This poignant docudrama about the strength of the human spirit is an adaptation of Bauby’s autobiography, which he amazingly dictated by blinking his left eye.

I’M NOT SCARED (Italian w/English subtitles) While the days in his remote southern Italian village should be filled with the familiar routines of childhood a chance discovery leads to a shocking revelation. Now suddenly beyond the point-of-no-return, 10-year old Michele (Guiseppe Cristiano) digs further to find that even his own parents may be involved in a monstrous crime.

KINKY BOOTS (UK) One Golden Globe nomination. Charlie Price (Joel Edgerton) aims to save his family’s conservative shoe factory with an unlikely new creative consultant: a sassy cross-dressing cabaret singer whose outrageous style and wild designs are a breath of fresh air for the business.

WITH A FRIEND LIKE HARRY (France w/English subtitles) One BAFTA nomination. While fixing up their summer cottage, Michel (Laurent Lucas) and his family run into a man (Sergi López) who claims to have gone to high school with Michel. Although Michel doesn’t recognize him, the man knows too much not to be a former mate. Soon the man and his girlfriend are living in the cottage, and Michel is realizing that his classmate’s interest may instead be obsession in this highly lauded thriller.
