Electus Announces Partnership with Oscar-Winning Producer Fisher Stevens to Develop Globally Inspired Documentary About the Intricacy of the Human Decision-Making Process

(New York) Ben Silverman's next generation multimedia studio, Electus, an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq: IACI), announced an exclusive partnership with Academy Award-winner Fisher Stevens' newly formed production company, Insurgent Media, whereby the two will create and produce a full-length documentary co-directed by "The Cove's" Stevens and Mark Monroe. The film, which will be independently financed, will provide insight into the decision making process of people all over the world; what, why and how people make decisions in a given day. Electus will own the global distribution rights for the film including television, motion picture and digital. The documentary is slated for theatrical release in 2011.

The globally inspired documentary, co-created by Ben Silverman, Fisher Stevens and Sean Carver, will utilize 20 different cameras to follow 20 different people on the exact same day as they make their daily decisions.  Participants will be from diverse backgrounds and disparate geographies and will face a wide range of decisions – from a wealthy couple in Los Angeles deciding where to purchase a house, to a mother in a developing country figuring out how to feed her children, to a man on death row – in order to gain insight into the incredible diversity in what people value, hold sacred, fear, anticipate and work to overcome.

"We are thrilled to be making this film with Fisher Stevens, who has a keen eye and understanding for the human condition and is an accomplished Oscar-winning storyteller, said Ben Silverman, CEO of Electus. "We are going to be doing a thorough and detailed examination of why and how people make the decisions they do and how different decisions have impact beyond the people making them."

"Ben is the ideal partner for a cultural experiment like this where we will delve deep, posing provocative questions to people of all walks of life on what really makes them tick," said Fisher Stevens, Director. "These distinctive personal perspectives will likely expose truly unique facets about our culture today."

As avid supporters of independent filmmakers, Silverman and Stevens will collaborate with both top level filmmakers as well as film students around the world. Professionals and next generation directors will work hand-in-hand to record people's real life moments in places ranging from big cities to small rural towns, from the northern boarders of Asia to the horn of Africa. East Pleasant Pictures is the production company coordinating this endeavor.
