Event Includes Partnership with TakePart to Inspire Viewers to Participate in Renewing the Environment.

(Nashville, Tenn.) Documentary Channel (DOC), in partnership with Participant Media's digital division - TakePart, celebrates the planet with "EarthView," a full month of award-winning and environmentally focused documentary films every night in April.  A remarkable line-up of inspiring feature films, "EarthView" promises an eye-opening exploration of our earth, the environment, and ways we can all participate in making the world a better place to live.  The month begins with the US television premiere of "Ingredients: Who's Your Farmer?" (April 1, 8 p.m. ET/PT), an empowering look at the local food movement that shares the inspiring stories of the chefs, farmers and activists who are transforming our broken food system.

In conjunction with "EarthView" on-air programming, TakePart will feature a dedicated "EarthView" web page (takepart.com/earthview) where viewers can connect with organizations that have environmentally focused missions specifically related to the issues raised in the featured films. TakePart and Documentary Channel will also collaborate on cross-promotion of the series and on editorial related to the films, including articles and other digital content.

Other Documentary Channel premieres in the line-up include:

• "Someplace with a Mountain" (April 7, 8 p.m. ET/PT), the story of the Lapita Navigators, a special group of Pacific Islanders losing their homes and crops as the small group of islands they inhabit disappears at the hand of devastating sea rise (narrated by Chevy Chase)
• "Save the Farm" (April 8, 8 p.m. ET/PT), an inside look at the largest urban farm in the United States, 14-acres sitting right in the middle of South Central Los Angeles, and the fight to save it from eviction at the hand of a major developer
• "Tapped" (April 15, 8 p.m. ET/PT), a behind-the-scenes look into the unregulated and unseen world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back the one resource that ought never become a commodity: our water (from the producers of "Who Killed the Electric Car")
• "Kudzu Vine" (April 21, 8 p.m. ET/PT), a stunning ode to the climbing, trailing, and coiling species Pueraria lobata that evokes the agricultural history and mythical textures of the South while paying tribute to the human capacity for improvisation
• "Bag It" (April 22, 8 p.m. ET/PT), the story of an average man who's entire life changes when he makes the simple decision to stop using plastic bags at the grocery store
• "Water Wars" (April 29, 8 p.m. ET/PT), a shocking examination of the water plights of Bangladesh, a nation falling prey to every threat from water known to man including rising seas, devastating floods, droughts, even arsenic poisoning (narrated by Martin Sheen)

"EarthView" also features a special Earth Day marathon starting at 4:00 p.m. ET on April 22nd. Featuring the Documentary Channel premiere of "Bag It" at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the Earth Day line-up also includes encore airings of "Ingredients: Who's Your Farmer," "Tapped" and "Kudzu Vine."
