(Doral, FL) The guest of honor, filmmaker and star of the film Esther Anderson was present for this special screening and took part in a Q & A Session after the film. Ms. Aderson was introduced to the audience by guest speaker Elliott Jones, Director of Community Engagement for the Miami Children's Initiative who is also the grandson of the beloved poet, Dr. Maya Angelou.

Prior to the screening the audience enjoyed a Whitney Houston Tribute by youth singers “The Voices of Inspiration” directed by Anita Edwards as part of the DocMiami International Film Festival “Save the Arts in Public Schools” initiative. The special tribute was followed by an amazing performance by music group “Reggae Force” led by Aston Barrett Jr., son of Aston Barrett who played with Bob Marley and the Wailers. “Reggae Force” performed alongside Prince Emmanuel Abderele of Nigeria, a visiting artist to Osun's Village Miami and African Caribbean Cultural art Coriddor Miami. Special guests included Jamaican Consul General, Mrs. Sandra Grant Griffith and 2012 African-American Achiever’s nominee, Chief Nathaniel B. Styles, Jr.

Through intimate scenes shot on a Sony video camera in the 1970s, Jamaican filmmaker Esther Anderson artfully constructed the union between Reggae and Rasta that launched the international career and renowned image of Bob Marley and The Wailers. Revisiting that formative time, she reveals to what degree her original vision set in motion the radical change of perception and consciousness both musically and socially around the world.
