Arizona’s own Chaparral MusicFest announces the schedule of workshops and concerts for its 7th season, from May 28 -June 16, including several exciting new additions for 2013.

2013 events include Suzuki Violin & Piano Academy, Youth and Adult Choral Workshops, Percussion Workshop, Chamber Music Workshop, and the new Contemporary Music Workshop led by quartet ERASABLE COLOR for instrumental, vocal and composition students. Each workshop culminates in a Celebration Concert which showcases the participants. Acker Trust and need-based scholarships are available for all workshops and those interested in attending are invited to apply for financial aid.

Faculty Recitals, Community Drum Circle and Celebration Concerts which follow each workshop are free to the public and family-friendly.

Another new offering for 2013 is the “Chaparral Showcaset” at 3:00 PM on Sunday June 16 at the Highland Center for Natural History, 1375 Walker Road, Prescott. View a film of students at various stages in their workshop experience and then experience their live performance at the concert. Tickets are $18 at chaparralmusicfest.org.
