Bright Forest Productions has won a prestigious Award of Merit from The Best Shorts Competition. The award was given for their science fiction short, �The Rubicon.� This film tells the compelling story of Ted and Angela, a couple in dire straits who must make an irrevocable choice. This twenty-five minute short was produced in the style of a �Twilight Zone� episode.

Stephen P. Sherwood, who wrote, directed, acted in and edited the film, had this to say about receiving the award, �On behalf of the terrific cast and crew of �The Rubicon� I would like to thank The Best Shorts Competition for their recognition of the hard work and craftsmanship we have invested in this film.� He added, �This story begins with a couple in foreclosure, an all too familiar story in todays� economy. But the theme here is that you can't let fear rule you. Sometimes the only way to move forward is to take a leap of faith.�
