Atlanta’s film industry is booming, and it’s exciting for local movie goers to identify locations in multiple movie scenes. The excitement of the industry extends opportunities for local talents. So when a local production company joins the ranks of big movie makers shooting an indie film, the metropolitan area of Atlanta shows just as much love. Local support has been awesome for Atlanta’s own author Lonz Cook while making the movie based on his novel “A Choice to Yield.” Local venues step above and beyond to help production go as smoothly as possible. Filming took place in various locations throughout the general Atlanta area such as The Plum Café & Ann Jackson’s Art Gallery in Roswell, J. Christopher’s on Ponce de Leon, Bottle Rocket Walker St. downtown, and Tinseltown Studios in Douglasville. Upcoming locations such as Inner Circle Nightclub of Riverdale, Village Tavern & Books For Less in Alpharetta, Sam Flax Arts & Crafts in Buckhead, STAX Burger Bar of Roswell, and Barnacles in Duluth all share in the excitement and shows their enthusiasm supporting local talent. The sound track is due to release in September with local talents such as Saxophonist Dexter Tolson and a Georgia native Poet Cache Perez. Also showcasing on the soundtrack are multiple song writers and singers coordinating with Thomas Crown Entertainment.

“A Choice to Yield the Movie” is about girlfriends supporting life’s challenges in relationships, careers, and family, with one taking a step with interracial dating in the south.

The author is a retired Marine, technology specialist and educator in Atlanta, GA. His creativity helped Marines passionately communicate with loved ones during deployments. Atlanta-based novelist Lonz Cook authored “When Love Evolves” and “Good Guys Finish Last.”
