Arrowstorm Entertainment today announced the upcoming release of a special-ops-vs-zombies-in-the-desert movie with a teaser trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb9V2lxa52M.
The film’s premise is unapologetically outrageous, but promises to be entertaining: when Osama bin Laden returns from his watery grave as a zombie, a yoga instructor (Dusty) travels to Afghanistan to rescue her conspiracy theorist brother (Derek), and falls in with a NATO Special Forces unit on a secret assignment; but when the group crashes headlong into a zombie apocalypse, Dusty and Derek must find the root of the zombie insurgency before it infests the world.
The idea was conceived in reference to a zombie Bin Laden shooting range target by Opsgear (www.Osombie.com), and screenwriter Kurt Hale took it from there to a full-length feature film script.
“There is a lot of conspiracy theory as to what really happened to Bin Laden,” says Arrowstorm Entertainment Producer Kynan Griffin. “Osombie explores one possibility of what might be the case,” he continues with a chuckle.
Starring Corey Sevier (The Immortals, The Last Future, Age of Dragons) and Eve Mauro (Miss March, Wicked Lake), the film is set to release in 2012 internationally, and is currently in post-production. A campaign at Kickstarter is under way to add to the special effects budget.
