Here's Your Chance to Animate William Shatner: A Contest, Presented by Myouterspace.com and Toon Boom

Hosted by William Shatner, the Myouterspace Contest calls the greatest talent in the creative galaxy to come forward and shine! The Contest is scheduled from September 1 until December 1, 2010 and is open to the talent of this world and beyond.

(Montreal) Emmy® Award-winning Toon Boom Animation Inc. announces the launch of the Myouterspace Contest, hosted by William Shatner. This out of this world initiative brings together Toon Boom, Myouterspace and the Academy of Art University, giving artists the opportunity to showcase their skills as top-notch animators.

The contest will challenge animators out there to create their own original video based on a short William Shatner monologue featuring myouterspace.com. Participants are required to use the Personal Learning Edition of Toon Boom Animate or Animate Pro to design and direct their own animated William Shatner using one of three audio voiceovers. The Contest is scheduled from September 1 until December 1, 2010. A round of final voting online will decide the prizes, including scholarships for two online courses provided by Academy of Art University.

"This is a unique opportunity to bring together Sci-Fi and Animation fans. We look forward to seeing the outstanding animation both the Myouterspace and Toon Boom communities will create," shared Joan Vogelesang, President and Chief Executive Officer at Toon Boom.

"Myouterspace.com creates opportunities for artists using the tools of their trade," said Creative Director Sammy Oriti. "We've found great partners for that mission. Toon Boom's Animate Pro is a professional, creative program with an easy learning curve and rich tools for bringing imagination to the screen. Academy of Art University provides a collaborative program with active professionals, that's the kind of online innovation Myouterspace is about."

Information about the Myouterspace Contest, including the rules and terms, is now available online at toonboom.com/myouterspace/
