Thales Ang�nieux Showcases Expanded Zoom Lens Line for S35+mm and Large Sensor Cameras at IBC 2012

Wide Selection of Lenses Ideal for Any Shooting or Production Style

(Amsterdam, Netherlands) With an extensive portfolio of high performance zoom lenses for today's S35 film and large format sensor video cameras, Thales Angénieux's display at this year's IBC is certain to inspire the imagination. The five showcased lenses which all provide 31.4mm (diagonal) image coverage include the Optimo Lightweight Hand-Held Lenses in 15-40mm (T2.6), 28-76mm (T2.6), and 45-120mm focal lengths, and the new Optimo Long Lenses available in 19.5-94mm (T2.6) and 28-340mm (T 3.2) focal lengths. Also on display are the Optimo DP Series Lenses available in 16-42mm (T2.8)and 30-80mm (T2.8) focal lengths. Additional innovations on display include new Lens Servos for improved ease of use and accuracy of zoom control, and the Angenieux Data System (ADS) module with /i protocol for all Optimo lightweight zoom lens line-up.

Angénieux's Optimo lenses being featured at IBC 2012 include:

Optimo Lightweight Hand-Held Lenses
Available in 15-40mm, 28-76mm, 45-120mm focal ranges, Optimo hand-held zoom lenses are lightweight and compact with high performance characteristics that include fast aperture, no ramping and minimal to no breathing. The combined focal length of 15mm to 120mm grants unmatched versatility within the most usable focal range, while reducing production time and cost. Outstanding image quality and a high precision zoom guiding mechanism for perfect tracking round out the features.

Optimo Long Lenses
Complementary versions of the famous Optimo 17-80mm and Optimo 24-290mm, the Optimo 19.5-94mm and 28-340mm will soon become new industry standard lenses. These long focal range lenses are derived from the same design and feature minimal breathing and superior optical performance rivaling prime lenses at equivalent focal lengths. 
They offer the exceptional precision you can only get with Optimo lenses. With image coverage up to 31.4mm diagonal, they are ideal for today's S35 film and large format sensor cameras, full frame 5K format of Epic among others.

Optimo DP Lenses
Optimo DP 16-42mm and 30-80mm lenses feature fast aperture of T2.8, calibrated focus marks and no ramping or breathing, and deliver the image coverage of full S35 31.4mm diagonal cameras (not for use with cameras with spinning mirrors).

 The Optimo 3D package consisting of optically matched 16-42mm Optimo DP and/or 30-80mm Optimo DP lenses, with accessories, in a customized carrying case is a true help/perfect solution to facilitate 3D shootings.

Optimo Servos
Compatible with the Optimo 45-120mm, 28-76mm and 15-40mm lenses and the Optimo DP lineup, Optimo Servos provide camera operators with motorized control of zoom and iris. It is designed for quiet and fast response and can help eliminate the need for dollies or additional setups to achieve smooth zoom and focus.

Angenieux Data System (ADS) Module
The ADS Module incorporates the /i protocol to allow monitoring and transfer of key lens data. The technology streamlines both production and post and is specifically designed for all lightweight zoom lenses including the Optimo 15-40mm, Optimo 28-76mm, Optimo 45-120mm, Optimo DP 16-42mm and, Optimo DP 30-80mm.
