(New York, NY) Brooklyn Workforce Innovations and the New York City Mayors Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting are pleased to announce the certification of the fifteenth class of Made in NY Production Assistants. One hundred eighty-five PAs have now graduated since the first class in February 2006, and alumni have earned approximately $3 million working in TV, film and commercials. Many of the graduates are now working in advanced positions such as field producer, transportation coordinator, assistant camera, assistant editor, stylist, production secretary, set decorator, script supervisor, and location manager, as well as serving as department and staff PAs.

The newest 14 Made in NY PAs were selected from more than 330 applicants, trained full-time for four weeks, and interned on the sets and in the offices of eight New York City productions, including Morning Glory, Just Wright, and a promo for Today in New York. Hands-on skills training took place at vendors and studios throughout the City including Silvercup Studios East, Silvertrucks, Eastern Effects and The Food Network. Our wonderful guest instructors included Jason Rowdy Rody, Scott Lazar, Becky Morrison, Joy Lane, Betsy Palmieri, Nathan Gendzier, Maura McGloin, and Dara Wishingrad.

Word is spreading quickly about this hard-working, motivated new crew. Less than a week after certification, Cycle 15 grads have already worked paid days and received great reviews on Eat Pray Love, Discovery Health, Art = (Love)2 and more.

Its easy to hire a Made in NY PA. BWI staff can arrange interviews or direct placements, several weeks in advance or at a moments notice. Contact BWI on the 24-hour hiring hotline 718-757-5816. Every certified Made in NY PA is a licensed driver and over 21.
