Are you a young filmmaker between the ages of 16 & 25 who has completed a film in the past year, or will have completed a film by June 1st 2009? Then you are cordially invited to submit your work for review and due consideration for entry into the 1st annual Wayfarers Traveling Festival.

The Wayfarers Traveling Festival [WTF] is wholly unique in its open-ended criteria for submissions. Initially one will be interested to know that there is no restriction on the number of pieces you can submit for consideration, furthermore there is no entry fee for doing so.

By submitting a piece for consideration for entry into the 2009 WTF you will have your film screened by a panel of resident filmmakers and you can opt for constructive feedback, in the form of filmmaker's notes, in the event that your film is not selected to be screened at the 2009 WTF.

In addition to there being no restrictions on the number of pieces submitted, or an entry fee, there is no restriction on the genre or length of your work submitted. All pieces received will be reviewed and considered equally, within reason, regardless of genre and running time. This freedom of genre and length opens up a door previously shut for festival entries and we hope in opening this door we will receive a diverse selection of films for consideration. It is worth noting that prizes will be awarded in three categories:

1. The Grand Jury Award - Selected by a panel of seven elite judges actively involved in the film scene in Bermuda and around the world

2. The Audience Choice Award - Selected by the audience in attendance at the WTF Screening

3. The Foreign Affair Award - Selected by a panel of seven elite judges actively involved in the film scene in Bermuda and around the world with specific regard to the way a film has portrayed some aspect of culture in the filmmakers home country

If your film is selected to screen at the WTF it will be viewed by an audience of over 500 people consisting of film enthusiasts and industry experts alike, as well as our elite panel of judges. [TBA]

All entries must be received by June 1st for guaranteed consideration; all films received later will be considered on a per case basis and may not be reviewed at all due to time constraints.

Entry forms are available for download at:

Upon completion both the form and the film (or a private link to the film) may be emailed to:

Questions should be directed to the above email address. It is with great excitement that we look forward to receiving all entries and considering your film for entry into the 2009 Wayfarers Traveling Festival.

As this is the inaugural year of the WTF, in order to make this festival its best, we need your help not just in your submissions but in promotion, please take the time to distribute this release to as many people as you can that are actively involved in the film scene.

Thank you and good luck with your submissions!

ABOUT
The main focus of the WTF is to share art from around the world with particular emphasis on the host countrys local talent in efforts to expand global tolerance, forge new bonds, and provide one heck of a melting pot for all this to happen in.

The inaugural Wayfarers Traveling Festival will take place on the island of Bermuda in the capital city of Hamilton in the middle of Bermudas 400th year celebrations.

The 2009 Wayfarers Traveling Festival will focus on youth film, music, and art from around the world.

We are looking to get as many countries represented by local filmmakers whove produced films of merit in any genre.

In addition to promoting the work of those filmmakers who are successful in having their films screened the Wayfarers Traveling Festival is dedicated to highlighting and enriching the cultural/artistic community of its host country.
