Q: Is there a fee to enter?

A: There is NO ENTRY FEE. The contest is free to enter! You can submit more than one entry. Multiple submissions are welcome!

 

Q: Who can enter the contest?

A: The Summer Shorts 2007 contest is open to ALL filmmakers, videomakers, and animators in the US, Canada, Mexico, and foreign countries.

Note: All are free to enter. There is no entry fee. However, please note that all winners are responsible for any tax for prizes that may apply. Also, any winners residing outside of the US are responsible for shipping fees, customs fees, and tax that may apply for prizes and awards being mailed outside of the US. Shipping, customs, and tax fees must be pre-paid before StudentFilmmakers.com can send out the items. StudentFilmmakers will not store any items longer than 30 days. Q: I am not a student. Can I still enter?

A: Yes, you can still enter. The contest is open to ALL filmmakers, all videomakers, and all animators.

 

Q: Will my film be showcased online?

A: Only accepted entries meeting the rules and format/size requirements will be shown online. Make sure to read ALL the Rules & Guidelines >>

 

Q: What is the contest deadline?

A: Submission deadline has been extended to October 15, 2007.

 

Q: When will the finalists be announced?

A: The Summer Shorts 2007 finalists will be announced November 1, 2007.

 

Q: When will the winners be announced?

A: The Summer Shorts 2007 winners will be announced December 1, 2007.

 

Q: I do not have an URL or FTP. How can I participate in the contest?

A: You can upload your entry to our servers or mail in your entry. We provide you with browser-based FTP access to do this, or you can save it on  a CD or DVD and mail it to us. Please note, we DO NOT accept authorized DVDs.

 

Q: How will the winners be chosen?

A: The winners will be chosen in 2 steps:



1. A panel of judges from StudentFilmmakers.com will select 6 to 10  finalists. This is NOT based on how many people view contestants’ entries on  the web.



2. The finalists’ works will be then be sent in random order to available judges who are working and well-known filmmakers. We will add up the  scores and give prizes to the 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place Winners.
