  • How can I make deep focus cinematography look good?

I prefer deep focus cinematography over shallow depth of field a lot, because it gives me more options during shooting. For example, I am using a glidecam stabilizer a lot right now, and I don't have to pull focus when moving the camera around, if I shoot at a scene in deep focus.

However, a lot of people complain about this, saying they don't like deep focus, cause the background isn't out of focus enough for them, or the background is too sharp in detail, compared to the actors. But there are several movies that make deep focus look good like Citizen Kane being the example, that most people think of when they think deep focus. So how does one make it look good and work artistically, when wanting to use the glidecam a lot for movement, during shooting?
